  2. I understand you visited the royal parks today, just a little info on them.
    Green park- 47 acres, used to be a swampy burial ground for lepers. It was known as a haunt of highway men, thieves and scouts.
    St. James park- the oldest royal park surrounded by 3 palaces, Westminster , st.james and buckingham palace.
    A leper hospital was founded in the park . Henry the eighth acquired the park in 1532 and built a scout hut.

    Hyde park- 350 acres , again Henry 'acquired' the park from the monks of Westminster in 1536.
    1665 the year of the great plague many people fled the city to camp on Hyde park, along with 5th Chislehurst scouts.
